South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, a key player in the sugar industry in Kenya wishes to enhance its human capital base by filling the following senior management positions with talented and qualified Kenyan citizens:-
1. Management Accountant
Reporting to Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will be responsible for:-
- Coordinating and Consolidating the company’s annual operation and capital expenditure budgets
- Preparing and presenting monthly cost reports for management decision making
- Preparing and submission of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Reconciling and costing of company stores and stocks
- Preparing standard costs and profitability analysis
- Keeping custody of company statistics and data for reporting as may be required
Person Specifications
- Holder of B.Comm -Accounting Option or its equivalent from a recognized university
- Holder of CPA(K) and ACCA/CIMA Member of ICPAK
- 5 years relevant experience at a senior management level in a busy accounting office.
- Must be IT proficient with strong ability to work with financial applications
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Age: not above 45 years
2. Financial Accountant
Reporting to Head of Finance, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for:-
- Ensuring effective financial accounting systems and up to date books of accounts
- Preparing cash flow projections and controlling disbursements
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and accounting standards
- Ensuring bank reconciliations are prepared accurately and promptly
- Preparing of Senior Management Payroll
- Ensuring that the staff salaries, allowances and wages are paid accurately and promptly
- Timely interfacing of sub-ledgers and ensuring reconciliation of the general ledger.
- Ensuring preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with IAS
- Timely submission of monthly statutory returns
- Providing liaison for effective external audits
Person Specifications
- Holder of B.Comm – Accounting Option or its equivalent from a recognized university
- Must be a holder of CPA (K) /ACCA
- Must be a member of ICPAK
- 5 years relevant experience at a senior management level in a busy accounting office
- Experience in a reputable professional accounting firm would be an added advantage
- Must be IT proficient with strong ability to work with financial applications
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Age: not above 45 years
3. Senior Internal Auditor
Reporting to the Audit Manager, the Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for-
- Preparing annual audit schedules and programs
- Performing risk exposure assessments
- Providing recommendations to minimize the risks and safeguard the company assets
- Carrying out system audits and appraising the application and adequacy of accounting, financial, procurement and other controls.
- Preparing and submitting audit reports including recommendations to management and the Board Audit Committee
Person Specifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance from a recognized university
- A holder of CPA-K / ACCA or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- At least three years relevant work experience in a similar position, preferably in a reputable audit firm.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in using Computer Aided Audit Techniques (CAATs)
- Possession of CISA qualifications will be an added advantage
- Age: not above 45 years
4. Sales Operations Manager
Reporting to Head of Head of Marketing and Business Development, the Sales Operations Manager will be responsible for;
- Developing and managing the company sales strategies, sales services and sales resources to maximize product sales
- Developing the company sales and distribution strategies in liaison with the Head of Marketing & Business Development.
- Developing and communicating sales targets by category of trade and monitoring achievements
- Maintaining up-to-date sales system to facilitate selling i.e. sales ledger, daybooks, dispatch, stock availability and sales reconciliations.
- Setting and updating product pricing in liaison with the Head of Marketing & Business Development
- Coordinating product dispatch and distribution logistics
- Maintaining a daily/weekly/monthly sales performance reporting against targets
- Preparing and submitting daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and trend analysis
- Building and maintaining a healthy relationship with customers
- Providing sales support to regional sales staff, motivating and developing the sales team
Person Specifications
- B.Comm – Marketing Option graduate or its equivalent from a recognized university
- Professional qualification in sales management and customer service
- Minimum three years proven track record in sales and distribution management in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry
- Experience in brand management and advertising agency liaison will be an added advantage IT proficient
- Good negotiation skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Age: Not above 45 years
5. Security Manager
Reporting to Managing Director, the Security Manager will be responsible for:-
- Directing and controlling security operations within the entire company premises
- Working closely with the out-sourced security service provider to ensure effective security for the company
- Advising management on the security requirements for the company and developing sound security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets
- Managing any internal investigations and act as a liaison officer with all other interested parties both internal and external including the Police, regulators and auditors
- Coordinating with appropriate law enforcement agencies to identify and facilitate investigative actions
- Maintaining comprehensive records of all investigations findings and action plans among other responsibilities
Person Specifications
- Bachelors degree from accredited institution
- Postgraduate diploma in criminology
- Minimum five years relevant work experience, three of which should have been at senior management level of security and safety functions.
- Experience in corporate safety management
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- Those who have worked with Kenya Police at the rank of Police Superintendent will have added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Age: Not above 50 years
