National Technical Advisor - Water Services Providers Association (WASPA)

Water Services Providers Association (WASPA) is an association of Water Services Providers (WSPs) with the objective of promoting sustainable management and development of water and sanitation infrastructures.

We are looking for a dynamic, result oriented person to fill the position of National Technical Advisor.

He/she will support the Executive Officer (EO) in positioning WASPA to realise its vision and strategic intent as defined by the Executive Committee, and in the implementation of the Association’s strategic plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drafting of WSP ‘position papers’ on sector policy, regulations and proposals emanating from the Ministry, Water Services Regulator Board and Water Services Boards (WSB)
  • Supporting the professional appearance of WASPA by actively participating in relevant meetings in order to raise the WSP issues at a national level
  • Building relationships with the Ministry, WASREB and WSBs through formal and informal meeting.
  • Establishing and strengthening communication for information and knowledge sharing between the members of WASPA.
  • Identifying, collecting and supporting the diffusion of best practices of the WSP
  • Improving the visibility of WASPA through developing different kind of communication material
  • Establishing linkages with training providers and scientific institutions and disseminate information on training opportunities
  • Supporting mainstreaming measures against HIV/AIDS
Qualification and Experience:
  • Holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, law or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in management and coordination of projects in this field of expertise
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships
  • Good leadership, management, facilitation and coordination skills
  • Experience in water supply management capacity building projects is desirable
  • Be a team player and self driven, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills
  • Computer literacy
