Commission for Higher Education Vacancies

The Commission for Higher Education is a regulatory body charged with planning, advising, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education.

The Commission for Higher Education wishes to recruit self-motivated and qualified professionals for vacant positions as outlined here below.

1. Assistant Commission Secretary - Planning

Qualifications: Honours first degree and a Masters degree in economics from a recognized university.

Experience: At least Five (5) years working experience in an institution of higher learning, educational research or a large organization in any of the following areas:
  • Economic planning, modeling and data analysis
  • Development planning, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation
In addition to the above the applicant must be computer literate and competent in application of packages such as Project Management System. SPSS or any other related system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of Assistant Commission Secretary shall include:
  • Tracking the implementation and periodic review of the Commission's Strategic Plan.
  • Advice on policy formulation, analysis and review;
  • Facilitating development, monitoring and evaluation of Commission's programmes
  • Development and update of statistical data bank on all aspects of university education in Kenya.
  • Analysis of statistical data and production of accurate forecasts for planning purposes.
2. Assistant Commission Secretary-Accreditation & Quality Assurance

Qualifications: Honours first degree and a Masters degree from a recognized university

Experience: At least five (5) years working experience in an institution of higher learning, research institution or a large organization in any of the following areas:
  • Curriculum design, development, implementation and review
  • Proposal development, planning, appraisal and implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Quality assurance and standards in education
In addition to the above the applicant must be computer literate and proficient in data analysts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of Assistant Commission Secretaries shall include:
  • Co-ordination and evaluation of academic programmes, institutional reports, and proposals
  • Preparation of evaluation reports, quarterly and annual performance reports
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual performance targets, and work plans
  • Preparation of quarterly status reports of departmental activities
  • Data analysis, interpretation and report writing
  • Secretarial services to meetings (departmental, divisional, and Commission Committees).
