JOB DESCRIPTION
WAITER
Our client is a public institution under the Ministry of Education, which offers in-service education in
mathematics and science through projects that have been piloted in various local areas.
They are looking for a waiter of high integrity who is a dependable team player and able to meet
strict deadlines.
Description:
 Ensure the customers are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
 Escort customers to their tables
 Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
 Inform customers of daily specials
 Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
 Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required
 Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
 Collect payments from customers
 Take food orders from the guests/customers on order slips
 Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
 Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning
desserts, and brewing coffee
 Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving
Requirements
 A Diploma in Food and Beverage Service and Sales or a relevant qualification
 Certificate of good health
 Prior experience of 2 years in a busy work environment preferably hotel, restaurant or an
institution
 Excellent presentation and organizing skills
 Work under pressure
 Attentive to detail
