The Foundation is seeking to recruit a talented, innovative and results oriented individual to fill the position of Research Associate. The position will work on three main areas; Global disease Surveillance Network, Transforming Health Systems, Urban Development, among others. The position will be based in Nairobi and will report to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the Foundation’s work with established partnerships and working with them in research and network development;
- Assisting in strategic development of existing initiatives and identifying new ones;
- Assisting in coordinating the grant management process;
- Liaising with the Evaluation team and external consultants to develop initiative(s) Results Based Management Frameworks;
- Liaising with the Communications team to develop appropriate external and internal communication to support the implementation of the Foundation’s strategy; and
- Developing budgets and serving on various internal Foundation Committees.
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
- A minimum of a Masters degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Public Health, Health Economics or related discipline;
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position with greater emphasis in identifying fundable projects and preparing and managing grants;
- Experience in conducting and analyzing research and in planning and implementing international programs and projects;
- Expertise in health or health economics as well as experience in working with governments, private sector and Non Governmental organizations in the delivery of health systems is preferred;
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a rapidly changing, globally oriented, multicultural environment;
- International development experience and knowledge of a foreign language are added advantages; and
- Team work, public relations, influencing and networking skills are essential.
