Logistics Clerk Vacancy in Mombasa

A Company based in Mombasa is looking for a Logistics Clerk

We are looking to recruit a Team Player who is enthusiastic and self-motivated to join us.

The Role:
  • To assist the Logistics Supervisor fully in planning and coordinating truck movements in all warehouses, liaising with other warehouses, clients and transporters to ensure timely delivery and collection of teas and containers.
  • This is a role that requires a confident, energetic individual with excellent interpersonal skills, and a drive to satisfy customers both internally and externally to the business.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Ensure all warehouses and offices are properly secured and security provided at all times
  • Involves ensuring that all company vehicles are operated safely
  • Propose and implement transport strategy
  • To ensure that all company vehicles are maintained and operated efficiently in order to maximise utilisation
  • To ensure that all company vehicle drivers operate within the confines of the laid down company policy
  • To liaise with the Logistics Supervisor/Operations Manager regarding the efficient running of the transport workshop
  • To co-ordinate the transportation of teas from the various warehouses to internal warehouses/port
  • Optimize warehouse utilization through effective planning and shipment execution
  • Monitor, coordinate and facilitate opening and closing of all warehouses.
  • Monitor Port operations & coordination with Port Clerks
The Ideal Candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
  • KCSE Certificate or its recognized equivalent, with a minimum aggregate of C with passes in English and Mathematics
  • College Diploma in a relevant field of Transport and Logistics
  • Strong Customer service, communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Committed team player
  • Computer literacy and experience in MS operating systems and MS applications
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in the Tea Industry will be an added advantage 
  • Knowledge in Fleet Management and local traffic rules and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership skills & high level of integrity 
  • Available to work on weekends as required
