JOB TITLE:      Project Assistant
PROJECT:                Emergency, Food Security and Distribution (EFSD)
DUTY STATION:   Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal
REPORTING TO:   EFSD Project Manager

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a Norwegian NGO promoting and
protecting the rights of people who have been forced to flee their
homes due to war or conflict. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated
individual to fill a vacant position within the Emergency, Food
Security and Distribution (EFSD) project in Southern Sudan. The
candidate should be willing and able to travel to the areas where NRC
Sudan works.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•       To assist the project manager in project administration and
management
•       To assist the project manager in administration of the project
including staff administration, staff meetings, filing and archiving
in accordance with NRC guidelines and regulations
•       To assist the project manager in the financial administration of the
project including: accounting for project expenses incurred, project
funds are spent in line with budget allocations, and recording and
reporting is completed in accordance with NRC guidelines and
regulations
•       To assist the project manager in logistic administration including
inventory, purchases and requisitions, quotations, transport booking,
as well as IT hardware/software support
•       To assist the project manager in ensuring that the weekly and
monthly reports are properly compiled
•       To liaise and maintain excellent relationships with the finance,
logistics and administrative team in Aweil and Juba in order to ensure
full support to the EFSD project
•       To ensure that the EFSD office and properties are kept in a good
condition
•       To fulfil any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Experience Required:
•       At least three years work experience in a NGO in a similar role
•       Completed secondary school; University degree is an advantage
•       Excellent knowledge of common Microsoft Windows and Office
applications and strong IT skills
•       Ability to read, write and speak English, Arabic, and a local
Southern Sudanese language fluently
•       Adaptable, flexible, and a team player
•       Valid driving motorcycle licence and national Sudanese identity
documents are required
