Regional Operations Coordinator (ROC) Middle East and East Africa: Habitat for Humanity International Jobs


Habitat for Humanity International is a leading Christian NGO based in Pretoria

Habitat seeks to appoint a qualified individual for the following positions:
Regional Operations Coordinator (ROC) Middle East and East Africa

Reporting to the Regional Director (RD), the ROC role encompasses seven functional fields of
responsibility:
  • Servant Leadership - Exemplify, encourage, and articulate servant leadership as a servant of Jesus Christ, modeling stewardship of the mission and resources.
  • Planning - Respond to HFH entity support requests and ensure agreed upon interventions are carried out. Consult and advise management on annual and strategic planning;
  • Monitoring - Review and recommend to the RD for approval: new affiliates, partnership proposals and MOUs.
  • Monitor organizational progress against charters
  • Ensure coherence of feedback on quarterly reports
  • Evaluation- Assist, coordinate the implementation and/or implement national program evaluations and other learning and monitoring tools, monitor Standards of Excellence compliance.
  • Advise the RD, as well as follow-up of ensuing recommendations arising out of all these.
  • Stewardship and Accountability - Assist the RD in allocation and coordination of Area resources to HFH entities; participate in regional planning and budgeting.
  • Capacity Building - In consultation with management identify and coordinate agreed Area interventions to build programmatic capacity.
  • Provide input into the recruitment of staff.
  • Organize regional meetings, conferences and/or events in conjunction with the regional team.
  • Crisis Management - As delegated by RD, trouble-shoot operationally-challenged organizations and/or those in transition, with responsibilities to include but not limited to: diagnosing and resolving program or staffing problems, ensuring and guiding program re-design as needed, and serving as interim National Director during executive transition.
Requirements
  • More than five years of social development and managerial experience.
  • Preferably 3 or more year’s development experience within the Africa/Middle East Area.
  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant field required, with relevant graduate study and/or research preferred but not required. Relevant fields include business administration, international development, international relations, regional studies, sociology, and economics.
