The Southern Sudan Interactive Radio Instruction (SSIRI) Project is part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The primary objective of SSIRI is to develop and broadcast educational radio programs to children, youth, and adults in order to improve access to and quality of education throughout southern Sudan and the Three Areas. In 2010 the Learning Village programs for P4 will be evaluated.
The responsibilities of the consultant will be to:
- advise the Technical Working Group of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on the conduct of the tests.
- work with teachers and other specialists to develop tests in Mathematics and English for P4 learners
- conduct pre-testing and determine the final format of the tests based on the results of the pre-test
- develop interview schedules and other data collection instruments
- develop an administration manual for test administrators
- conduct training for test administrators
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in education. A qualification in testing and measurement would be an advantage
At least ten years experience in education and five years experience in assessment of learning
Experience in developing test items and conducting evaluation exercises
Experience in Southern Sudan would be an advantage
The consultant will be expected to start as soon as possible and no later than April 1st 2010. The consultancy is expected to last 18 days.
