The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has organized a course in collaboration with the mentioned countries which will be carried out in the following schedule:
- 6 weeks full time from 4 October to 12 November 2010
- 3 weeks at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College in Moshi, Tanzania followed by
- 3 weeks at the Infectious Diseases Institute & School of Public Health in Kampala, Uganda

* Week 4 Field placements
* Week 5 HIV and TB
* Week 6 Outbreak control
This new short course in tropical medicine is half the length of a traditional DTM&H with twice the amount of clinical contact. The emphasis is on experiential learning and the majority of teaching is in small groups.
The course explores recent advances in the practice of medicine in East Africa from village health care programmes to cutting edge diagnostics. All tutors are actively involved in clinical practice and research in the tropics and many are international leaders in their field.
There are 15 places for doctors from Europe and North America.
Fees include all teaching, accommodation and transport within East Africa.
Participants pay separately for their international flights and food.
15 African postgraduate doctors will also join the course free of charge.
COURESE FEES: Cost: £2350 (US$ 3500)
In exceptional circumstances we will consider requests to attend the course for 3 weeks.
