POSITION SUMMARY:
To promote, demonstrate, and train on pediatric-focused HIV counseling and testing at designated health facilities throughout the Lake and Southern Highlands zones. The successful candidate will also organize and conduct family-centered, pediatric HIV testing and community education events advocating for pediatric HIV testing, counseling and care.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Assistant medical Officer (AMO) or senior Nurse with more than five (5) years experience in pediatric care
• Registerer by the Tanganyika Medical Councilor Nurses and Midwives Council as appropriate
• Training arid experience in HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, and service delivery, experience in pediatric-specific HIV testing and carE: "\ plus
• Experience in training and mentoring others
• Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Kiswahili
• Proficiency in the use of computers and computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advocacy and mentorship of health professionals in the provision of pediatric-focused, HIV counseling and testing
• Conduct of community sensitization and outreach events focusing on pediatric HIV case identification and care
• Preparation, analysis, and submission of pediatric HIV testing reports to program management as well as the appropriate Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) regional and national reporting bodies
• Support the develop of programmatic guidelines for pediatric-specific testing and counseling
• Forecast, monitor and order stocks of necessary testing and support supplies, including HIV testing kits and associated sundries
• Liaise with the appropriate MOHSW officials with regard to projected testing event plans, including test kit and related-supply needs
