Medical office 6 positions (3 Mbeya/ 3 Mwanza)

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide medical assessment, evaluation and care to pediatric patients in the Zonal Referral Hospital, the Children's Clinical Center of Excellence (COE) and in outreach facilities throughout the assigned zone. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and mentorship to health care professionals and medical trainees in family-centered, pediatric HIV/AIDS care through didactic training, clinical mentoring and support of clinical attachments to the COE and !n other care settings

QUALIFICATIONS

• Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery/Chirurgery (MBCHB) from an accredited institution

• Registered by the Tanganyika Medical Council as a Medical Doctor having completed internship with at least one year working experience

• Proficiency in general pediatric and adult medical care

• Familiarity with general HIV care and treatment

• Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Kiswahili

• Proficiency in the use of computers and computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to patients attending the zonal COE, patients in the pediatric wards of the Zonal Referral Hospital, and in outreach facilities throughout the zone

• Providing education to medical trainees regarding family-centered, pediatric HIV/AIDS care

• Providing technical assistance to health care providers in pediatric and general HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, care, treatment and complications both within the COE as well as in outside facilities

• Provide education, training and mentorship to medical trainees and health professionals in general pediatrics and family-centered pediatric HIV/AIDS care

• Provide technical assistance to health care providers in pediatric and general HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, care, and treatment both within the COE as well as in health facilities throughout the zone

• Actively participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME), case conferences, and other meetings in all clinical and educational settings

• Other specific tasks as assigned
