Marketing Manager – Medical
Primary Responsibility
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Medical insurance, the primary responsibility for this function will be to provide strategic leadership by setting developing a Medical Insurance marketing unit that will oversee the growth and delivery of the Medical Business Budget as set out in the Corporate Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up a marketing unit with clear strategy, structures, and capacity.
- Develop and implement medical insurance marketing strategies in order to achieve the overall business objectives of growth in market share and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies aimed at building capacity of the distribution channels including direct sales, brokers, agents and the branch network in order to ensure maximum client reach.
- Ensure the branch network is highly productive and profitable
- Ensure that the direct sales force is productive and that the set targets are achieved
- Proactively, initiate and coordinate development and launch of new products and also enhance the existing products to meet market needs.
- Coordinate the training of intermediaries including the in-house sales personnel on new and enhanced products
- Design and implement advertising, promotion and public relations strategies in order to enhance medical insurance sales.
- Regularly conduct market survey aimed at collecting market intelligence on products and competitor activity.
- Develop and regularly review the compensation structure (including incentives) of the in-house sales personnel in line with market practices
Requirements
The suitable candidate must be result driven, high performer with a demonstrateable track record, team player as well as motivational team leader and a strategic thinker and must meet the following minimum requirements.
- First degree in business related subjects. MBA will be an added advantage.
- ACII /FCII will be a distinct advantage.
- Over 5 years experience in sales and marketing of medical insurance products.
