Our client, the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) is a government owned, non-bank development financial institution established through AFC Act Cap 323 of the Laws of Kenya.
At inception, AFC was incorporated to take over the credit functions of the pre-independence European and African Agricultural Boards. The main function during those early years was to assist in the transfer of land from European Colonial settlers to indigenous Kenyan farmers.
AFC was reconstituted in 1969 and assumed a wider mandate by taking over the functions of the Land and Agricultural Bank of Kenya.
The Corporation wishes to recruit dynamic, honest and committed Kenyans to the following vacant positions:
Managing Director
Reporting to the AFC Board, the Managing Director, will be responsible for the implementation of the strategic goals and objectives of the corporation in consultation with the Chair of the Board to enable the board to fulfill its governance function and to give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the corporation's philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate should not be more than 50 years of age with at least ten (10) years of proven experience in Banking, Finance, Economics or related fields at senior management level, with demonstrable experience in change management, innovation and exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and computer proficiency.

- A professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Insurance or related fields will be an added advantage.
General Manger, Business Development
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager -Business Development will be responsible for management of Marketing and Business Development functions.
The ideal candidate should not be more than 45 years of age with at least five (5) years experience in senior management position and a track record in developing and implementing business and marketing strategies.
In addition, the candidate should possess:

General Manger, Human Resources and Administration
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager -Human Resource and Administration will be responsible for all aspects of HR management and policy and will manage the human resource strategy to comply with the corporation's strategy and provide proposals and data collection for key decision-making on Human Resource Capital.
The ideal candidate should not be more than 45 years of age with at least five (5) years experience in senior management position and be a team player with excellent interpersonal relations, managerial, and organisational skills.
In addition, the candidate should possess:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager -Human Resource and Administration will be responsible for all aspects of HR management and policy and will manage the human resource strategy to comply with the corporation's strategy and provide proposals and data collection for key decision-making on Human Resource Capital.
The ideal candidate should not be more than 45 years of age with at least five (5) years experience in senior management position and be a team player with excellent interpersonal relations, managerial, and organisational skills.
In addition, the candidate should possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in social sciences from a recognised University.
- He/she should also have relevant training in Human Resource Management, Management, Business or Public Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
- A Masters degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is an added advantage.
