Position: Account Assistant
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Possess awareness of the laws and regulations that apply to ensure compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receipting of all cash Inflows
- Raising Payment Documents
- Updating Cashbooks
- performing bank reconciliations
- Maintain Petty cash System
- Process Payments for various ECONCILE transactions following RECONCILE financial policies and guidelines
- Provide Technical input in the preparation of annual budgets as well as costing for any project proposal
- Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff and clients.
- Develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
- Compile information for facilitating audits.
- Provide Technical Assistance to RECONCILE member organizations in strengthening financial management system
- Handle office petty cash and any other payments to staff
- Develop the annual operating budget and consult with departmental management on the fiscal aspects of program planning, salary recommendations, and other administrative actions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports. A diploma /Finance or related field, three to five years of accounting experience and part two of CPA exams. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
