Suitable candidates should have the following qualifications:

- Must be professionally trained Graduate female teachers from recognized institutions. Those with a Masters degree will have an added advantage.
- Must have served for a minimum of Ten (10) years as a teacher, four of which must be as a headteacher.
- Must have proof of professional competence, be persons of Integrity, with proven record of good management skills and curriculum implementation.
- Must be conversant with national education trends, policies and objectives in the education sector.
- Must have knowledge, skills and experience in budgeting, accounting, and book-keeping for educational institutions and general school financial management.
- Must be familiar with principles and practices of Guidance and Counseling, Industrial Relations, and conflict management.

- Teaching
- Coordinating and preparation of professional records
- Guiding and supervising curriculum implementation
- Maintaining the academic standards and records, timetables and schemes of work at the institution
- Formulating education plans and development strategies for the institution
- Initiating and conducting educational courses, conferences, seminars and workshops
- Inducting new teachers
- Maintaining discipline and supervision of all students and staff.
- Appraising teachers and preparing appraisal reports on their performance
- Guiding and counseling Students
- Organizing remedial interventions for weak students.
- Preparing estimates of recurrent and development expenditure for the institution
- Preparing and presenting financial statements for approval by the school Board of Directors, and Parents Teachers Association.
