Access Kenya, a leading ISP company in Kenya is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of a Marketing Manager
Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will work in conjunction with the Management to formulate and implement Access Kenya’s marketing strategies and initiatives as well as manage the day to day operations of the marketing team.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with management and stakeholders to ensure that new products are adequately branded, advertising campaigns are appropriate and trademarks are registered
  • Liaise with the advertising agency to ensure they come up with brand and advertising materials that are in line with the company’s products and within the required timelines
  • Liaise with sales and the marketing team to organize marketing activities
  • Work with the advertising agency to come up with the most cost effective and efficient media plan for the company
  • Perform media monitoring to check for effectiveness of any on-going media campaigns
  • Work together with the PR team in coming up with the company’s corporate communications strategy with regards to Marketing activities.
  • Participate in identifying suitable products/services for target customers and develop them for introduction
  • Repackaging of existing product ranges in line with the changing customer needs
  • Actively reviewing and monitoring competitor products offerings with a view to ensuring the company’s products have a competitive edge
  • Carrying out market intelligence, monitoring and analyzing market completion and recommending appropriate action
  • Define the product strategy and layout the product roadmap based on the approved marketing / product plan
  • Analyze market trend, consumer needs and identify opportunities that exist in terms of user requirements and propose complete end to end solutions to harness this opportunities.
  • Ensure branding consistency for all AKG communication in line with the investment of any proposed product, meets the set minimum prior to its development and rollout

  • Develop a route to market strategy laying out monthly projections / targets and for monthly sales in coordination with the sales manager
  • Define the product strategy and layout the product roadmap based on the approved marketing / product plan
  • Negotiate all rates with suppliers who deal directly with the marketing department
  • Sign off invoices and approve payments
  • Assist in any CSR activities
  • Assist with the coordination of any internal events for the group.
 
 
Role Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in Sales & Marketing or a Business Management discipline.
  • CIM Certification
  • You will have at least 3 years hands on experience in brand or product management in a highly competitive environment, of which at least 1 year must be in a supervisory position.
  • Sound product knowledge of the communication industry’s’ existing and packaged product portfolio will be an added advantage
  • Experience in working with an Creative / Advertising Agency will be an added plus
  • You will have working knowledge and experience in project management.
  • You will possess strong relationship building skills preferably from a major blue chip company and have strong leadership skills.
  • You will be innovative and creative and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess good negotiation and decision making skills
  • Must have excellent planning and organization skills
  • Must be results oriented, confident and presentable.
  • You will have good knowledge of the Ms Office suite.
