Home Based Care Supervisor

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for assisting/liaising with HIV/GBV Program Officer regarding all tasks related to the HBC Program
  2. Coordinates with other sector staff: HIV/AIDS, GBV, PHC
  3. Organize and facilitate workshops and trainings on a monthly basis to HBC Workers, caretakers, Village Health Committees, and Traditional Healers
  4. Responsible for monthly data collection and collation of HBC Worker monthly reports.  Must submit reports to HIV/GBV Program Officer.
  5. Provide support supervision to HBC Officer and Field Assistant.
  6. Provide guidance and assistance to local CBOs/PLHA support groups.  Organize frequent support meetings with various groups.
  7. Provide technical assistance to HBC Workers. 
  8. Prepare budgets for any and all activities carried out in the field.
  9. Take a lead role in the establishment/development of alternative food support strategies (kitchen/community gardens).
  10. Conduct ongoing M&E of HBC activities
  11. Maintain strong working relationships with government officials, local leaders and communities with respect and cooperation.
  12. Networking with other NGOs, CBOs, religious organizations to increase synergies and collaboration
  13. Identify potential sites and assist with assessments for expansion of HBC services using prepared guidelines.
  14. Monitor supply consumption and ensure adequate supplies and equipment for HBC program are procured in a timely manner
  15. Perform any other duties assigned by the Program Manager and HIV/GBV Program Officer.
 Requirements:
  1. Fluency in English and Juba Arabic required
  2. Must have previous academic and work experience in social work, community development, or health care.
  3. Experience working with chronically ill patients desirable
  4. Proficiency in advocacy, reporting, computer skills required
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, empathy
  6. Ability to plan and facilitate health based curriculum trainings/workshops and other relevant community health programs
  7. Willingness and stamina to travel to outlying areas to assess and monitor HBC Program Activities.
    Be sincerely motivated and concerned for caring and visiting the sick in less than favorable conditions
