Our client (an international bank) is looking for a suitable candidate to fill aSenior Relationship Manager position.
Position Purpose
- Marketing for new customers, increasing share of wallet with existing customers and maintaining sound credit judgment
- To alert clients to wealth creation opportunities offered by the bank and expand share of wallet
- To develop long-standing relationships with corporate organisations/ institutions by providing practical insights into their business, particularly with regard to account management
Strategic Focus
- Proactively understand the Clients’ strategic direction and long-term needs as well as the opportunities and threats to the Clients
- Develop and nurture strategic relationships with the Clients to ensure that the strategy and business objectives of the Client and the Bank are achieved
- Drive and role model a superior client orientated culture within Corporate and Investment Banking
- Continually recommend improvements and adaptations to existing systems, processes and structures in order to ensure current and future viability of Corporate and Investment Banking
- Identify potential new business opportunities and consistently generate innovative ideas for implementing new business opportunities
- Develop an intimate understanding of the clients’ industry and business, analyse their modus operandi, management practices, judgement of various influential decision makers, and market conditions affecting the long term viability of the business and industry sector
- Utilise information management systems and processes to pre-empt selling opportunities and identify opportunities and threats to Clients and the Bank
- Effectively use this knowledge to continually provide information to ensure that the products and services of the Bank meet the needs of the Client and stay abreast with world best practice
- Consistently deliver high quality service delivery to all customers; internal & external
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times
Required
- Understanding of the relationships between the various entities involved – CIB, Processing Centres, Credit, Risk, I.T, Operations Integrity and Branches
- Knowledge of bank financial services mechanisms and entire range of products and services applicable to the market served
- Knowledge of service standards
- Knowledge of the Code of Banking Practice
- Attendance of applicable SBSA training courses, e.g. product knowledge, sales skills
- Appreciation of relationship management principles and practice
- Experience in high level management
- At least 5 years of work experience in a Corporate & Investment Bank set-up as either a Product Manager (in direct contact with the customers) or a Relationship Manager
- Credit experience
- Conceptual understanding of strategic business plans and performance trends.
- Ability to apply business acumen and technical financial skills
- Ability to multi-skill
- Good verbal communication skills – sincere and articulate
- Diplomatic and tolerant in relaying and receiving information
- Ability to maintain relationships even when communicating disagreeable information to customers

Education Level
- A Bachelors Degree (min. 2:1) preferably banking related e.g. Business Admin, Banking, Finance or Economics
- A Masters degree (MBA, Banking, Finance, Economics etc) or banking related Professional Qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA, ACIB etc) would be an added advantage
- Banking related Professional Qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA, ACIB etc) would be an added advantage
- Computer Driving Licence would be an advantage (including Microsoft Office certification).
- Fluent use of Microsoft office is essential for this job
