Our client is looking for a suitable candidate to fill a Senior Business Development Manager position.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside the partners and staff of East Africa, in interacting with existing and potential clients, acting as an enabler of market best practice and instilling sound principles of business development, brand building and reporting excellence.
Strategic responsibilities:
- Marketing and communications strategy development at the county and Africa sub-Area area levels.
- Close liaison with the Africa sub-area leadership team to ensure Marketing’s alignment to the overall business objectives.
- Close liaison with business unit marketing managers to ensure their alignment with the global and national priorities.
- In addition, the role requires a good understanding of the services offered by the firm and the revenue generating priorities to ensure that National Marketing supports the business unities in achieving their objectives.
Marketing responsibilities
Management, oversight and where required direct involvement in the execution of local brand and relationship building campaigns that reinforce the company’s position through:
- Advertising
- Sponsorships
- Exhibitions and conferences
- Events and hospitality
- Mail-shots and newsletters
- Thought leadership
- Marketing collateral
- Media relations
- Recruitment marketing
- Alumni interventions
- Management of onsite, outsourced event managers
- Management of external service providers ensuring correct interpretations of visual identity and messaging as well as commitment to quality, including:
- Printers
- Corporate and branded goods suppliers
- Event organizers
Operational Responsibilities
- Financial management and planning including preparing of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in addition to managing the income statement.
- Approval of purchase orders in line with budgets and strategic objectives.
- People management, motivation, collaboration and performance management
- Formal counseling of direct reports in line with the firm’s performance management process
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Social Sciences – 2nd upper or better
- MBA desirable
- Minimum of 5 years Business Development/Marketing experience, with a minimum of 2 in a managerial capacity
- Previous corporate exposure, with a preference for candidates with experience in Professional Services.
