Provincial Administration Western Cape Medical and Community Programme: Interns Urgently needed

The Provincial Administration Western Cape   seek to provide placements for    Medical students in Cape Town, South Africa. This program provides great opportunity for (10) ten – 15(fifteen) selective students from Universities worldwide ,to carryout their internship at state hospitals & clinic’s for a period of six weeks.

This programme has been initiated to enable state hospitals to cope with the millions of refugees from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Ghana & Mali are also accessing health care from state hospitals which are already with limited resources. Furthermore, the medical board of the Western Cape Province has one believe everybody no matter who they are or where they come from has the right to proper medical care.

These programmes cover Clinic programme’s in the following key areas:  T.B.,Aids, Maternal health, Child health and Community base programmes

All medical Interns enrolling for this program will be placed State Hospitals (on shift basis) and divided into various departments as follows;

1. Surgical department (NSH)
2. Emergency service/ Casualty trauma

Accommodation will include the following:  Three meals a day,Airport transfers,Transport to and from your projects on a daily basis,An introduction programme on arrival,Constant guidance and assistance by a volunteer co-ordinator and Day before departure a barbeque.

NOT INCLUDED  are Flights,Insurance,Visa Fees and Vaccination costs

ENERTAINMENT: To vast to mention but we do promise you will have a ball of a time

Payment plan: Total cost to enrol on this internship program is $ 4690 which will cover Facilitation, delivery and administrative charges, Provincial administration western cape donation, Room,meals and shuttle. Cancellation is 12% on total fees will be deducted

Start dates 2010:  24^th July,21^th August,18^th September,16^th October,13^th November

Start dates 2011:15^th January,12^th February,12^th March,16^th April,14^th May,12^th June,16^th July,20^th August,17^th September,15^th October,12^th November
