Following the enactment of the Water Act (2002), the Corporation’s roles changed and it assumed the following new mandate:-
- To develop state schemes and spearhead dam construction for water supplies, flood control and other multipurpose use, land drainage and construction of dykes.
- To carry out ground water recharge using flood water and drilling of boreholes on behalf of the Government.
- To develop new, retain existing and expand bulk water supply to Water Services Boards and other Service Providers.

- Initiates new corporate communication strategies and procedures.

- Ensures efficient procurement and distribution of stores, disposal of unserviceable and/or obsolete stores on the recommendation of the NWC & PC Board of Survey
- Initiates review of procurement policies, regulations and standards
- Reviews re-order levels and monitors the movement of stores
- Undertakes marketing surveillance of relevant products
- Establishes linkages with suppliers
- Develops and supervises junior staff in the Section

Requirement of Appointment
- Satisfactorily served with the Kenya Police in the rank of Inspector or an equivalent rank in the Armed Forces, Prisons Service or the National Youth Service for a minimum period of three (3) years
- First Aid Certificate
- Clean record of service in the previous organization
- Certificate of good conduct
- Computer proficiency
- 6 years, 3 of them as Security Officer II
- Monitors security matters
- Carries out investigative activities where necessary
- Advises NWC&PC on best security intervention measures
- Advises the Chief Human Resource and Administrative Officer on all security matters
- Liaises closely with other Governmental security organs such as the Kenya Police in all security matters affecting NWC&PC

- Must be a holder of a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution

- Processes compensation and pension cases and performs any other relevant duties as may be assigned, within existing rules, regulation and procedures.
