Harvard University holds Forum in Abuja on ICT and Civil Society for 2011 Elections

ICT and Civic Engagement meetings concerning upcoming 2011 Elections in Nigeria
 
Venue:
Yar'Adua International Conference Center, Abuja

July 19-20, 2010
 
Purpose: 
A large public event seeking to raise broad awareness of the intersections of civic engagement, democracy, and technology, focusing on the upcoming 2011 elections. To leverage the thinkers and doers assembled from Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world by sharing and highlighting the good work they are doing, the lessons collectively learned, and the challenges  and opportunities  that lie ahead for all, Nigerians in particular.
 
Organized/Sponsored By:
The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and the College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University (USA), hosted by Digital Bridge Institute (Nigeria), and sponsored by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

Getting the word out:  
A hybrid approach, with people using blogs, Tweets, email, and Facebook accounts, but also telling others in your organizations, social circles, and families about the event. A maximum of 500 people is expected.
