The Centre for Professional Ethics is pleased to announce the availability of a full-time MPhil/PhD Studentship in Global Ethics for the October 2010 intake.
The Centre is an internationally known research institution formed in 1993 (www.uclan.ac.uk/cpe).
We are looking for a highly motivated student with a strong interest in applied ethics, and in particular in global issues. The following are examples for eligible fields of research:
o Human Rights and Health
o Ethical Issues of Emerging Technologies in Developing Countries
o Benefit Sharing
o International Research Ethics
o Global Science & Technology Policy
o Science & Technology Policy in Developing Countries
o Global Ethical Governance
For up to 3 years, the studentship will cover the cost of tuition fees (at UK/EU rate) plus a stipend of currently £13,290 per annum.
International students are very welcome to apply, if they can supply the difference in funds from other sources.
