The Erich and Rochelle Friedmann Endowed Prize in Music

Eligibility: new or current students in any discipline except Music but who have exceptional and proven musical ability.

Value: about £300

Duration: 1 year

The successful candidate is expected to play a prominent part in the musical life of the College, and in particular to act, if requested, as organising secretary of the College's active Music Society. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by September 1st 2010.

Application:  Letters of application should be submitted to the Admissions Officer.

Polonsky Foundation Grants for International Graduate Students

Eligibility: candidates may be in incoming or current students, and must be citizens of countries not in the EU. Successful candidates should show need of financial assistance, academic merit and the promise of being good College citizens (i.e. active in the arts, sport, student governance, etc).

Value: approximately £4,700.

Duration: 1 year although students may re-apply for the grants.

Award of the scholarship will be conditional upon acceptance by the appropriate faculty board of the University; and acceptance of a graduate place at Lincoln. Three Polonsky Grants are available. Selected candidates will, on selection and before receipt of funding, be expected to write a letter of thanks to the donor, giving an outline of their background, research and longer term aspirations. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by September 1st of the year of application.

Application: new candidates should first make an application to the University of Oxford through the Graduate Admissions website and MUST enter 'Lincoln College' as their first choice of College. Lincoln College Scholarship application forms can be downloaded in Word or .pdf format, or can be obtained from the Admissions Officer, and must be accompanied by two references.
