Position: Receptionist/Secretary
Line Manager:
Administrative Coordinator

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension

Solidarités is an international humanitarian aid organization which provides assistance to populations who are victims of armed conflict or natural disasters. For 30 years, Solidarités has concentrated its action on meeting three vital needs: water, food and shelter. By carrying out emergency programs, Solidarités has acquired experience end expertise in the fields of access to drinking water and sanitation.

In the Horn of Africa, Solidarités is currently implementing food security, water and sanitation projects in Kenya and Somalia.


1/ Objective of the position

The receptionist/Secretary will mainly be in charge of welcoming visitors, answering the phone and recording data entry.

2/ Hierarchy

The Receptionist/Secretary is under the authority of: the Administrative Coordinator. He/She will work in collaboration with the national and expatriate staff

3/ Keys responsibilities

Note: This list gives the framework of your activities but it is not exhaustive. You may be asked to complete other duties.

Reception/standard

  • Receive visitors at reception and ensure that the reception area is well maintained and kept orderly
  • Switchboard management – To receive and direct incoming calls, make calls and report technical telephone problems to the Logistic Coordinator.
  • Secretarial work
  • Record data entry
  • Filing, photocopy and scan of documents

4/Qualifications and experiences requested

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field

Experiences:

  • Experience of reception and data entry required.
  • Experience of cross cultural environment
  • Experience of working in a team required

5/ Person Specification

Skills and competences:

  • Hard working
  • Excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Languages:

  • English (working language): fluent, with excellent writing skills.
  • Kiswahili remains desirable skills
