Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) is an international development assistance company specialized in the supply of technical assistance and consultancy services in the disciplines of food security, rural development, post conflict
management, value chain development and international trade facilitation.
We are currently seeking an experienced technical advisor responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting for a forthcoming EU-funded livelihoods programme in the Karamoja region of Uganda. The programme
aims to promote development as an incentive for peace and security in the region by supporting livelihoods, including agro-pastoral production and income generation opportunities for the people of Karamoja.
As a senior consultant you will be expected to bring experience in project implementation with large-scale donor funded programmes in remote challenging environments, particularly those subject to ongoing pastoral conflict. The
role combines technical, administrative, financial and advisory functions. You should have a technical background in rural development; those with experience of pastoralism or rangeland management would be particularly suitable.
Previous experience in Uganda would be advantageous, as well as sound knowledge of EC procedures.
