Position: IT & Equipment Officer
Line Manager: Logistic Coordinator
Location: Nairobi, KenyaDuration: 6 months with possibility of extension
Solidarités is an international humanitarian aid organization which provides assistance to populations who are victims of armed conflict or natural disasters. By carrying out emergency programs, Solidarités has acquired experience end expertise in the fields of access to drinking water and sanitation.
In the Horn of Africa, Solidarités is currently implementing food security, water and sanitation projects in Kenya and Somalia.
1/Objective of the position
The IT & Equipment Officer will be in charged of managing the IT and the durable equipments of the Nairobi Regional Office.
2/Hierarchy
The IT & Equipment Officer is under the responsibility of the Logistic Coordinator. He/She will work in collaboration with the national staff and the expatriate staff.
3/Keys responsibilities

The IT & Equipment Officer will support the following activities:
Information Technologies:
- Maintain integrity and security of software and data stored in network servers retaining high availability to users.
- Maintain user accounts and ensure they have relevant access rights for secure connection to Internet and network shared resources.
- Ensure all computer equipments are properly safeguarded from virus attack and distribute periodic updates of the anti-virus to sub-offices.
- Ensure that all data from users are saved on an external support on a monthly basis.
- Provide assistance to users for any IT & computing problem.
- Ensure the appropriate maintenance of all computers: electrical protections, physical cleanliness, updates of software, and checks of the configuration.
- Advices the logistics coordinator for any upgrade/optimization on materials, configurations or architecture.
- Conduct field visits on a regular basis or for an urgent assistance, with the validation of the logistics coordinator: training of the log/admin managers, assistance to users, regular maintenance of all IT equipments, written reports.
- Is responsible for the appropriate use, maintenance and storage of all durable equipments of the Nairobi Regional Office.
- Management of new equipments: edits an ID card, identifies it with a logistic code, enters the information in the EDP, checks it functioning,
- Management of maintenance of equipments of the coordination or of the equipments coming back from the field: issue a maintenance sheet, selects and performs the appropriate maintenance or repair, fills the ID card and updates the EDP.
- Inventory: performs a monthly physical inventory of the equipments in the coordination and a physical inventory in the bases at the same time as IT field visits.
- Reporting: updates the EDP and sends it to the logistics coordinator on a monthly basis.
- Is responsible to provide a mobile phone and/or a laptop to visitors, with the validation of the logistics coordinator.
- Stores in a safe place all equipments not used or in repair.
- Filling of all documents: ID cards, manuals, documentations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Business degree in relevant field.
- Professional training in IT management
- Experience of IT management required (3 years)
- Experience of cross cultural environment
- Experience of working in a team required

- Excellent Computer and maintenance skills
- English (working language): fluent, with excellent writing skills.
- Kiswahili remains desirable skills
