ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS;
Maintain and support the IT network and PC based IT systems. Ensuring that backups are completed;
Installing and configuring computer operating systems and programs; Talking WRP personnel through a series of actions - either face-to-face or over the telephone;
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
Providing support documentation, including procedural documentation; Running network applications to support system and users;
Supporting new applications and setting up new users;
Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to the IT Manager or ,third parties, if appropriate),- prioritizing and managing several open cases at one time;
Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with WRP, MMRP, MHRP and HJF personnel and external technical support personnel; Assisting the procurement department when purchasing computer hardware; IT related consumables and software as required by EGPAF Mozambique testing/evaluating new technology;
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Higher Education
Minimum of three years IT support experience, preferable within USAID/CDC funded projects
A combination education, training and experience
Possession of the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) qualification would be a plus. Good knowledge of computer networking and hardware
Up to date knowledge of Microsoft operating systems Extensive knowledge of IT systems and software
Must have excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution
Previous documented IT experience Fluent in English and Swahili
