The Board of Directors of Nyahururu Water and Sanitation Company Limited is seeking to fill the following key management position in its establishment.
The Job
The incumbent will report to the Managing Director and will be based in Nyahururu.
The main purpose of this job will be to provide strategic support to the Managing Director by building sustainable capabilities through successfuly implementing HR programs and initiatives that support the Company Human Capital Strategy in partnership with Management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all employment practices, compensation, employee benefits, and human resources programs are within established standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies of the company and local labour laws.
- Maintain contact with the labour industry, other organizations and government departments to keep abreast of relevant human resources process developments that are relevant.
- Facilitate periodic review and update of Human Resources Policies and procedures in line with changes in the regulatory and labour environment.
- Coordinate the performance management process to ensure it is effective, and linked to the staff development programmes.
- Coordinate staff training and development programmes. This includes training needs analysis, training evaluation and coordination of special programmes.
- Coordinate human resource planning for the company and facilitate staff recruitment and selection process.
- Manage staff appointment process, which includes issuance, renewal and termination of contracts.
- Ensure the company maintains a compensation and benefits package equitable and competitive within law and ability to pay.
- Provide administrative support, which includes personnel records maintenance, payroll administration, staff benefits processing, and management of retirement benefits scheme.
- Ensure the company maintains good employment and industrial relations through well managed staff welfare schemes, healthy and safe working environment, effective management of disciplinary and grievance issues, with effective communication process.
- Coordinate employment related legal issues and advise management on appropriate course of action.
- Participate in development of the company’s strategic plan and ensure effective contribution of human resource function towards achievement of the plans
- Prepare and control of human resource budgets.
- Ensure timely and economic provision of company administrative services, such as office supplies, equipment maintenance and insurance of the whole company.
The preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Human Resource Management.
- Qualified professional with university degree in Human Resource Management would be preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of HR experience with exposure to Performance Management, Succession Planning Change Management, Recruitment and Selection.
- Some related experience in all HR component areas, e.g. talent development, organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, among others.
- Knowledge of Kenya legislation.
