FIDA Kenya Jobs

FIDA Kenya seeks to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following vacant positions:-

Executive Director
(to be based in the Nairobi Office)

Duties:-

* Provide leadership and assume responsibility for the guiding vision of FIDA Kenya.
* Ensure the formulation and successful implementation of FIDA Kenya programmes.
* Manage the programmes of FIDA Kenya.
* Ensure formulation and successful implementation of the FIDA Kenya strategic plan and advocacy strategy.
* Fundraising for the organization.
* Promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
* Enhance the impact of FIDA Kenya’s programmes and activities.
* Build and sustain effective partnerships with government, like minded organizations and other civil societies.
* Coordinate the running of the three offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
* Develop programmes and appropriate work plans and activities.
* Provide effective and efficient management of FIDA Kenya’s human, financial and information management resources.
* Create an enabling environment by focusing on knowledge sharing, capacity building and team building in the workplace.
* Raise the international reputation and profile of FIDA Kenya.

Minimum Qualifications and attributes:-

The ideal candidate should meet the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

* An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 10 years experience, 4 of which should be at a high managerial level.
* A Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
* A self motivated, creative, strategic thinker with substantive, senior level experience in working on women’s human right issues.
* Possess excellent leadership, managerial and organizational skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead programmes.
* Proven management capabilities with experience in an NGO set up.
* Demonstrate financial management skills and leadership qualities.
* Possess excellent writing and communication skills.
* Proficient in computers and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Knowledge and experience in human rights, gender & women’s rights issues.
* Experience in litigation.
* Must be a team player, highly self motivated & self driven.

Senior Program Officer, Transformative Justice Team
(to be based in the Nairobi Office)

Duties:-

* Manage the transformative justice programme of FIDA Kenya.
* Implement the FIDA Kenya Agenda Four programme.
* Liaise with government agencies and other stakeholders on projects undertaken by FIDA Kenya.
* Lobbying and advocacy at the international and national on women related issues.
* Develop and maintain communication with partners and beneficiaries.
* Design, conduct research and analysis of key policy issues and legislations affecting women.
* Organize and facilitate workshops and meetings.
* Conduct training on gender issues and women’s rights.
* Undertake any other tasks as commensurate with the post.

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes:-

The ideal candidate should at least posses the following qualifications and attributes:-

* Bachelor of law degree. A Diploma in social work as well as understanding of human rights will be added advantage.
* Minimum of 7 years post qualification professional experience.
* Should have knowledge of program planning, designing, monitoring and evaluation and financial management skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in gender and women’s rights issues, lobbying and advocacy.
* Proficiency in computers, organizational and analytical skills.
* Proven excellent writing, documentation and editorial skills
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills
* Must be a good team player, highly self motivated and self driven
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
