The Coalition on Violence against Women-Kenya (COVAW-K) celebrated its twelfth birthday this year by

designing a growth path for the medium term, now popularly known as the Vision 2018.

We are now in the process of recruiting the Vision 2018 Team.

This Team is expected to be highly motivated, ambitious, innovative, committed to the womens agenda and ready to take up the challenge of propelling COVAW-K towards achieving the Vision, and indeed the long term agenda of eradicating violence against women.

The above opportunity is immediately available.

The Advocacy Manager is a subject matter specialist and the backbone of COVAW-Ks advocacy strategy,

which aims at influencing policy at the local, national and international level.

This position is part of the strategic management team.

Your Role

• Steer public interest litigation cases.

Capacity building and organizing various training sessions for different foras.

Negotiate and advocate on various agendas.

Develop training curriculum.

Monitor and track progress.

Develop annual status reports on violence against women.

Your key qualifications

A degree in law is a must and advanced degree is an added advantage.

A minimum of three (3) years work experience in advocacy.

Experience in program planning, designing, managing, supervision, monitoring and evaluation is required.

NGO and fundraising experience an advantage.

Exceptional writing/verbal communications skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, extremely organized, and collegial and have the ability to function well under pressure while handling numerous tasks simultaneously.

She must be willing to take initiative, prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team.

The candidate must have demonstrated organizational skills and excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
