JOB TITLE: Training Team Leader
PROJECT: Emergency, Food Security and Distribution (EFSD)
DUTY STATION: Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal
REPORTING TO: EFSD Project Manager
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a Norwegian NGO promoting and
protecting the rights of people who have been forced to flee their
homes due to war or conflict. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated
individual to fill a vacant position within the Emergency, Food
Security and Distribution (EFSD) project in Southern Sudan. The
candidate should be willing and able to travel to the areas where NRC
Sudan works.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To contribute to the achievement of NRC EFSD project objectives
• To lead the EFSD training team, assess areas, mobilize community and
identify beneficiary groups
• To conduct training for EFSD team members on issues and materials
related to their activities
• To identify financial and logistic needs for EFSD activity
implementation
• To develop new training materials and improve existing ones
• To plan and supervise EFSD field trainings for beneficiary groups
• To prepare activity reports, documenting analysis of discussions and
any necessary follow-up activities
• To develop evaluation techniques to assess the level of
understanding of training materials and messages
• To liaise with NRC partners (especially local authorities) and other
stakeholders (returnees, host community, community leaders, CBOs,
NGOs, UN) on food security related issues
• To represent NRC in a professional manner in meetings with partners
Qualifications and Experience Required:
• At least five years work experience in humanitarian work, food
security, livelihood or rural development
• University qualifications in a relevant field, such as agronomy,
agriculture, livestock or fishery
• Excellent knowledge of participatory approach and community
mobilization
• Excellent training skills, as well as training of trainer,
communication and report writing skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English, Arabic, and a local
Southern Sudanese language fluently
• High level computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office
applications)
• Adaptable, flexible, and a team player
• A valid driving motorcycle licence and national Sudanese identity
document are required
