Sales Engineer – Air Conditioning

Position: Sales Engineer – Air Conditioning
Department: Air Conditioning
Directly reports to: Marketing Manager Air Conditioning
Indirectly reports to: Head of Marketing and Directors
Responsible for: CAC Commercial Air Conditioning
Job purpose: To provide Commercial Air Conditioning sales leadership through the provision AC solutions to customers and Administrative support to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Nature and scope: This position reports to the Marketing Manager – Air Conditioning, The jobholder supervises and is responsible for handling commercial air conditioning customers’ queries: site surveys, quotations both for installation and maintenance of commercial conditioners.
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall commercial air conditioning sales target, and development of the commercial air conditioning business.
  • Monthly and yearly AC projections for LG AC equipment and System Air Ventilation equipment.
  • In charge of all CAC tenders i.e. creation, management of initial tenders list, tender design and tender costing.
  • Sourcing of material and AC accessories for tenders i.e. establish relationships with vendors to obtain pricing, delivery and technical information as needed.
  • Identify prospective architects, consultants etc in the assigned market region
  • Plan and efficiently schedule appointments with prospects
  • Promptly follow up on the leads and referrals
  • Qualify prospects, establish customer rapport and identify project solutions
  • Estimate costs, make effective sales presentations, and answer questions and objections in a proficient manner
  • Prepare all quotations using LG’s design software, ducting software and System air selection software in conjunction with AutoCAD.
  • Educate consultants on how to prepare designs using the above software with the objective to get consultants to design tenders using LG specifications.
  • Survey mechanical systems. Understand prospect’s needs and problems. Determine repair, modification and/or replacement requirements to provide solutions. Interpret drawings, equipments and job conditions.
  • Competitively cost projects for close of sale ensuring that projects can be installed within the company’s minimum profit requirements.
  • Add value to the customer by proactively looking for ways to save energy and forecast equipment replacement needs as well as sourcing specialized equipment where necessary.
  • Commercial air conditioning documentation – quotation, BOQ, creation of project files & raising invoices & C/Notes if required, payment collection etc.
  • Stay current on mechanical systems, appropriate codes and industry standards and obtain permits wherever necessary
  • Perform any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Achievement of sales target of MPS, Multi V & System air: 15%
  • % of Business from New Consultants: 10%
  • Timely Reports – Sales, Projection, Competition Analysis etc: 10%
  • Number of tenders/ quotes vs Number of successfully closed bids: 10%
  • Timely payment collection on sales and projects: 10%
  • Maximum 4 months stock roll over: 10%
  • Management and maintenance of non ac supplier quotes / file: 10%
  • Accuracy and validity of design and costing: 15%
  • Projected order plan vs. actual sales: 10%
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) with a bias towards refrigeration or equivalent from a recognized university
  • AutoCAD and air conditioning design is a must
  • At least 5 years experience in commercial air conditioning
  • Must be proficient in computer packages like Spreadsheets, database and word processing, Microsoft Project, email etc.

Working hours:
  • 8:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • 8:30am – 1:00pm Saturdays
