The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent, humanitarian non-governmental organization which provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.
NRC Kenya/Somalia Program runs education, Sheller and protection activities in Dadaab North Eastern Kenya and in three locations in Somalia. i.e. Puntland, Somaliland and South Central Somalia.
NRC invites applications for the following positions for Dadaab Field Office, starting February 2010-December 2010, with Possibility of extension.
Positions Vacant: Procurement Assistant
Reporting to: Procurement Officer
Main responsibilities & Tasks
* Facilitate the sourcing of various supplies as instructed
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries
* Assist in Preparation of weekly procurement status report
* Register and maintain proper files of requisitions, quotations and purchase orders and other relevant documents
* Ensure that all relevant documents relating to procurement are submitted to the finance department for timely payment to suppliers
Required Qualifications
* University Degree or equivalent Higher Diploma in purchasing and supplies management, business administration or logistics from a recognized institution
* Minimum 3 years in procurement or related field in a humanitarian organization
* Proven ability to use MS Office software (especially Word, Excel)
Positions Vacant: Logistics Assistant
Reporting to: Logistics Coordinator
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
* Plan a materials flow system from procurement into and out of the warehouse to support the projects
* Supervise and coach warehouse support staff on warehouse procedures
* Maintain accurate and updated asset inventory registers
* Ensure proper identification of all arrival/departure material (quantity, quality, and delivery)
* Conduct periodic physical stock count in the warehouse
* Preparation of accurate and timely stock reports
Required Qualifications:
* University Degree or equivalent Higher Diploma in Logistics store management or business administration from recognized institution
* Minimum 2 years in the same field in a humanitarian organization
* Proven ability to use MS Office software (especially Word, Excel)
Position Vacant: IT Technician
Reporting to: Logistics Coordinator
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
* Implementation of ICT management Systems and strategies according to NRC policies
* Install and Maintain networks administration
* Performance of specific technical functions, including changing of hardware electronic components and routine repairs
* Assist in the installation of commercial and in-house developed software and related upgrade
* Installation and Monitoring of domain server traffic, usage and performance
Required Qualifications:
* Degree or diploma in computer sciences, information systems or related area from a recognized institution
* 3 years experience in the area of information management/ technology or related area is a requirement
