The Southern Sudan Interactive Radio Instruction (SSIRI) Project is an important part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The primary objective of SSIRI is to develop and broadcast educational radio programs to children, youth, and adults in order to improve access to and quality of education throughout southern Sudan and the Three Areas. In addition, SSIRI has introduced other learning technologies ranging from VSATs at teacher training institutions and a secondary school and low-cost alternatives for delivering audio programs to schools and learning centers. SSIRI is administered by EDC and funded by USAID.
SSIRI is seeking for qualified Sudanese National for the position of an IT Officer to be based in Arapi Teacher Training Institute (TTI), Pagari, Eastern Equatoria State.
Primary responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement a professional skills-based program for tutors and student teachers at Arapi Teacher Training Institute (TTI) focusing on how computers, videos and the Internet can strengthen the academic program.
- Provide hands-on practical training to tutors and student teachers on computers and the Internet.
- Train tutors and student teachers on shooting video using camcorder and production of instructional video clips.
- Develop materials for training.
- Install, configure and maintain hardware and software including Wireless Network devices; e.g. WAP, Router, Printer Server, etc.
- Troubleshoot problems related to software, PCs, Printer, Router, Switch, WAP and VSAT System.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in computer-related study from a recognized university/college.
- Prior successful experience in teaching computer application software such as MS Office Suite
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software, VSAT and Wireless network system
- Ability to organize and plan for a computer training program
- Knowledge of shooting video and editing is required
- High level of initiative to organize, develop, and implement programs
- Ability to work well with teachers and students
- Sudanese national
