Accounts Assistant: Ripples International Jobs in Kenya

Ripples International (RI) is a faith based, non- profit Religious Trust organization with a mission to serve children.

We, by this notice, invite applications for a post of Accounts Assistant.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-

Job Profile:
  • Support the Accountant in preparing donor reports for management review on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Safeguarding all RI accounts and documents.
  • Support departments in preparing annual budget and ensuring that such budgets are adhered to.
  • Receiving, recording, coding filling and posting all projects income and expenses.
  • Ensuring that accounting procedures are followed before any payments or receipt of money is made.
  • Verifying and coding all accounting documents received as well as to prepare internal vouchers for accounting purposes posting them in the system.
  • Filling and coding files for easy identification
  • Assisting the accountant in establishing and implementing systems and effective mechanism that will permit the management of the organization funds and assets with transparency, accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Adhere to strict accounting deadlines
  • When necessary, represent the interest of Ripples International in internal and external meetings relating to finance.
Qualifications:-

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training:
  • Must have not less than CPA II or its equivalent in accounting
  • Must be self supervisory and initiative
  • Must have skills and ability to deal with multiple donor accounts
  • Requires at least three years accounting experience, preferably with an NGO or as a consultant.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of office systems, including experience with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database management, Quick Books etc) required.
  • Adaptability and flexibility and willing to work long and extra hours.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and auditing
  • Requires good interpersonal verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be a team player, transparent, honest, tolerant, friendly and God fearing.
  • A mature born again Christian who is actively involved in a local church
  • Must be aged between 25-35 years
  • Must be willing to participate in morning devotions held at Ripples International
