East African Portland Cement Company Limited (EAPCC) is a leading cement manufacturer, situated in Athi River about 30km from Nairobi, and pioneered the manufacture of cement in East Africa in 1933.
Having started as trading company importing cement, it has grown over the years and now produces about 1.3 million tons of cement per annum.
The cement manufactured by East African Portland Cement Company, is sold under the brand name Blue Triangle Cement and has been instrumental in the regions social-economic development as virtually all spheres of development have benefited from the use of Blue Triangle Cement.
The company is looking to fill the position of Management Accountant as part of a re-organization program that is aimed at enhancing financial reporting.
Management Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Management Accountant will be responsible for provision of timely financial information to aid management decision making.
Specific responsibilities will include:-
* Produce timely and reliable monthly and quarterly management reports.
* Liaise with external auditors for prompt preparation of financial statements.
* Liaise with departmental managers in preparation of annual budgets.
* Analyze departmental expenditure and advice on budgetary performance on monthly basis.
* Evaluate capital proposals and advise management accordingly.
* Ensure closure of books and subsequent review is done on schedule.
* Prepare standard costing reports for the entire manufacturing process.
* Ensure management information reports effectively and continuously serve the evolving decision making needs.

* Holder of a University Degree in accounting or other business related fields.
* MBA qualification will be an added advantage
* Holder of professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
* At least 5 years relevant working experience in a busy accounting environment.
* Experience in manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
* Excellent understanding and experience in computerized accounting system.
* Practical knowledge of product costing in an ERP environment, preferably JDE is essential.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of budgeting process.
* Good understanding of IFRS and preparation of financial statements.
* Unquestionable integrity and character.
* Good team player, self motivated and innovative.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in computer applications.
