As part of the development and succession planning KVTC is looking for an experi¬enced Dry Timber Manager to assist in maintaining and improving the quality of KVTCs products:
The Role:
· Manage two operational sections: Kilns and Drymill with about 45 staff members
· Maintain drying quality of the products incl. management of hot water / boiler systems
· Maximize Drymill recovery and control product quality
· Manage bundling and product preparation
· Prepare packing lists and supervise loading of export containers
· Control stock levels of dry timber
· Report to Processing Manager on stock availability
· Maintain and improve operational availability of the plants
· Maintain Health and Safety Standards
Profile:
· Degree or diploma in Engineering or Processing Industry related field
· Hands-on practical manager / problem solver
· Minimum of 5 year experience in Processing Industry
· Preferably experience in forest industry or agro-processing industries (sugar, tea or similar)
· Experience with Value Adding Equipment such as planers, moulders, sanders would be an added advantage
· Computer literate (in particular Outlook and Excel)
· Fluent in both English as Kiswahili
· Tanzanian or East African (Kenya, Uganda)
