Job description:
The Small micro enterprise program officer will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Oversee the Small Micro- Enterprise Program of the organization
- Facilitating and overseeing establishment of Savings and Loans groups in Nairobi’s informal settlements and rural areas.
- Supporting and mentoring members of the economic empowerment groups in areas of business skills.
- Develop proposals and formulate recommendation for funding.
- Report writing and work plan development of the program.
- Contribute to the development of Funds.
- Developing and delivering Business skills trainings tailored to the groups needs for example assist the S&L groups to come up with business skills etc
- Lead in partnership establishment with grassroots, National, regional and International organizations with similar programmes.
- Any other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
- Born again Christian.
- Holder of a Degree in Social Sciences or any other related field.
- A Diploma in Business Administration, Economics or Finance will be an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years work experience in Microfinance project and preferably with an NGO implementing project in the informal settlement in Nairobi and rural areas.
- Computer Literate -Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Team player of high integrity, honesty and confidentiality.
- Have interest in working with people living with HIV /AIDS
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills
