The MUHAS-Harvard Training Collaborative's Call for Application

The MUHAS-Harvard Training Collaborative, led by Japhet Killewo, MD, PhD, and Wafaie Fawzi, MD, DrPH, has a commitment to developing public health capacity throughout Tanzania.

Graduate students from Tanzania with a wide range of backgrounds are eligible to participate in graduate degree training programs at the Boston University School of Public Health and the Tufts School of Medicine.  Interested candidates should have either healthcare experience with a medical, dental, or nursing background OR an interest in quantitative methods including statistics and epidemiology.  Preference will be given to candidates from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. However all interested applicants are encouraged to apply. These include for example other training and Research Institutions in Tanzania which should encourage their staff to apply. All applicants must be attached/affiliated to an institution in Tanzania.

Qualified applicants may apply for the following programs:- Masters of Public Health at Boston University (One and a half years) 
- Masters of Public Health at Tufts University (One and a half years) 

Four students will be selected to participate in these degree programs.

Admitted candidates will attend either the Boston University School of Public Health or Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  All expenses including tuition, books, and living fees will be fully supported.

The application process begins IMMEDIATELY and selected students will begin their education in January, 2011.  The application must be completed online with relevant certificates and letters of support from responsible persons in the institutions who can approve release for the training.
