The Pharmaceutical support officer is responsible for monitoring and evaluation visits to TB and HIV sites. He/she is also in charge of the capacity building of the Health facilities health workers on pharmaceutical management and rationale use of medicines.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :
- To conduct pharmaceutical support visits
· To organize the practical details of his field visit.
· To assess different aspects of the partner health facilities according to the framework and to report with a constructive critical sight.
· To conduct a feedback meeting of the results of the assessment and give recommendations to the NGO at the end of each field visit.
- To report on the pharmaceutical support visits:
· To prepare and submit to the M&E supervisor and reporting officer a comprehensive field visit report according to the framework in the few days following his return. He/she will also write a brief feedback report to the M&E supervisor / M&E and capacity building coordinator.
· To fill the field indicators form.
- To participate to the trainings
· To conduct a training during every field visit according to the weaknesses noticed and the level of participants. The topics are the following:
o Generalities about medicines
o Pharmacy management and proper storage conditions
o Stock management
o Rational use of medicines
o Good record keeping
o Specific diseases like malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS proper diagnosis and respect of the current Southern Sudan treatment protocol.
· To facilitate the trainings for health workers organized by Euro Health and its partners in Southern Sudan.
· To participate to the elaboration of training materials (pharmaceutical booklet, PowerPoints, exercises database)
Requirements:
- Sudanese citizenship required. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Diploma in a medical matter: pharmacist/pharmacy technician, nurse, clinical officer with experience in the pharmaceutical field
- At least two years experience in a similar position or in monitoring & evaluation activities.
- Good training skills
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Fluent English - especially written. Ability to write accurate reports and make presentations.
- Excellent presentation, good communication and diplomatic skills, sense of initiative.
- Willingness to travel in remote areas within Southern Sudan (50% of the time).
