Contract duration: Up until 31 Sept 2010 with the possibility of an extension, subject to performance and project extension
The project that requires the additional drivers has headquarters in Juba and the project is a USAID, funded project that has been supporting implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Sudan since 2004.
The project “Core Institution Strengthening project” is providing:
- Technical assistance to the Government of Southern Sudan to establish the institutions of governance.
- Technical assistance to the Government of Southern Sudan to build the capacity for transparent, accountable and democratic governance.
- Support for the Elections Commission in preparation for upcoming elections (2009)
- Support for the Census Commission in preparation for national elections and the 2011 referendum.
Drivers will be transporting advisors around Juba city to provide assistance to Government ministries and various organizations within Juba.
- Probation Period: 3 months

Scope of work - Driver
Reporting to: Transport Coordinator / Director of Operations Duties:
- Driving the office vehicle for official duties and assignments
- Carrying out basic maintenance of the vehicle
- Reporting mechanical faults on vehicles
- Maintaining basic records regarding the vehicle as required
- Ensuring the safety of the vehicle while on duty
- Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure the vehicles comply with the GoSS transport regulations
- Carry out any other administrative duties as required
- A Sudanese national
- ‘O’ level certificate
- Valid driving permit
- Clean driving record
- Basic Mechanical and vehicle maintenance skills
- At least three (3) years work experience in a similar field.
- Good written and communication skills in English
- Highly pro-active and self-disciplined
- A detailed knowledge of Juba city and routes in and around the city
