The Southern Sudan Interactive Radio Instruction (SSIRI) Project is an important part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The primary objective of SSIRI is to develop and broadcast educational radio programs to children, youth, and adults in order to improve access to and quality of education throughout southern Sudan and the Three Areas. In addition, SSIRI has introduced other learning technologies ranging from VSATs at teacher training institutions and a secondary school and low-cost alternatives for delivering audio programs to schools and learning centers. SSIRI is administered by EDC and funded by USAID.
SSIRI is seeking for two qualified Sudanese Nationals for the position of an Outreach Coordinator to be based in Yei and Morobo Counties, Central Equatoria State.
- Work with county and payam officials to ensure that the SSIRI programs are fully integrated in the education system at the country and payam – especially in planning, implementation, training, and monitoring.
- Work closely with state, county, payam and local officials, as well as NGO partners, to ensure program expansion, support, and quality.
- In consultation with education officials, identify schools, listening groups, and teachers for SSIRI.
- Conduct training workshops in the facilitation of SSIRI programs
- Monitor the implementation of SSIRI programs in schools and learning centres.
- Collect and submit data on SSIRI program
- Must be a Sudanese by nationality
- Resident of the area in which the project will be operating.
- Diploma from a recognized higher institution.
- At least 2 years experience as a teacher or trainer or other work in education, preferably in Sudan.
- Computer literacy in MS word, Excel, Outlook and the internet
- Should be knowledgeable about the current Southern Sudan education system and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
- Should be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
