Market Development Officer
Ref No: LS-MDO 2
Reportable to: LifeWorks Shukrani Board of Directors
Location: Nairobi, with frequent visits to Mariakani
Job Summary
The post-holder will be an experienced Market Development Officer with indepth knowledge of sales and marketing methods, and experience in promoting a portfolio of products to wholesale and retail customers, at local, regional and export levels.
The post-holder will be able to maintain strong customer relationships, both administratively and interpersonally, and will be able to provide input to on-going product design.
The MDO will posses strong organisational skills will be computer literate and will be able to maintain an accurate and regularly- updated customer database.
He or she will be familiar with all aspects of export processes, and will posses knowledge of particular export markets for Kenyan products.
Qualifications and competencies
The MDO must have a Degree in Marketing or related field with Minimum of 3-5 years experience in marketing high-end consumer products, preferably textiles.
Experience and familiarity with export marketing administrative processes and regulations will be imperative.
Knowledge of production and design, of high-end market products, preferably in textiles with strong administrative and management skills, and demonstrated capacity to maintain sales records.
S/he should be strong in written and verbal communication skills
This is a management position within a small but growing textiles manufacturing enterprise.
