NOC Systems Engineer
Ref: TECHNICAL_NSE_JUNE 2010
Reporting to the Senior Manager-NOC; the holder(s) of the position will maintain and support the state of the art converged IP network to maximize availability.

NOC Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Manager-NOC; the holder(s) of the position will maintain and support the state of the art converged IP network to maximize availability.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform network operation and administration activities to ensure maximum availability;
- Accept and resolve all the network operation escalations;
- Performing corrective network activities to restore network availability;
- Perform network support activities to ensure timely fault repairs and network service restoration;
- Perform network control functions to ensure maximum systems security;
- Update and document network operations methods of procedure;
Requirements:
- B.Sc Computer Science, or Bsc. Electrical & electronic engineering, Telecommunication engineering;
- 2 years hands on experience with Linux/Unix systems;
- Knowledge and skills on network management systems
- Wimax/MPLS technologies knowledge and experience is a must;
- Experience in a busy network management centre in a reputable organization;
- Very strong hands-on skills with extensive experience in the troubleshooting and solving complex network related issues;
- Excellent in technical project management;
- Good networking, interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Excellent analytical skills;
