Principal job in government clearing & forwarding agency

For Appointment To This Grade, A Candidate Must:
(i) Have Served For A Minimum Period Of Three (3) Years At The Grade Of Chief Government Clearing And Forwarding Officer, Job Group ‘m’
In The Public Service;
(ii) Be In Possession Of A Diploma In Clearing And Forwarding From A Recognized Institution;
Or
A Bachelors’ Degree In Commerce (insurance, Internal Trade, Accounting, Supplies Management Option) Or Economics Or Business Administration From A Recognized University;
(iii) Have Attended A Senior Management Course Lasting Not Less Than Four (4) Weeks In A Recognized Institution; And
(iv) Have Demonstrated High Administrative And Managerial Capabilities.

Duties And Responsibilities
An Officer At This Level May Be Deployed To Head Either An Administrative Or A Technical Division At The Department Headquarters Or A Large Operational Field Unit Such As The Clearing And Forwarding Unit At Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Specific Duties And Responsibilities Will Include:
(i) Controlling And Coordinating Either Administrate Or Technical Services;
(ii) Physical Locating Of Goods;
(iii) Granting Authorization For Release/removal And Dispatching Goods;
(iv) Lodging Claims With Relevant Authorities; And
(v) Making Follow-up On Such Matters With The State Law Office.
