The Foundation for Civil Society is an independent Tanzanian organization whose vision and mission is to empower Tanzania citizens to realise their rights and engage in change processes that enhance their quality of life through the provision of grants, facilitating linkages and enabling a culture of ongoing learning in civil society.
The Foundation is inviting applications from qualified, dynamic and motivated Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions in its offices in Dar es Salaam. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to work with and learn from civil society organizations from all over the country.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in social sciences with at least three years experience in grants or project managemen~ monitoring and evaluation, policy and development.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent, well developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be a team player, very self motivated and able to make balanced judgment and prioritize work load with minimum supervision An in depth knOWledge of the civil society sector and development processes in Tanzania
Highest level of integrity, honesty and sense of responsibility.
A proven ability to work under pressure to achieve visible results.
Strong work ethics and sensitive to people from different countries/cultures. An in depth knowledge of MKUKUTA/MKUZA
Excellent report writing skills and analytical skills
Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Applications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To Iiaise with Grants Department and M&E Unit in identifying grantees capacity gaps, needed capacity development support, and define key outcomes and milestones,
To ensure that appropriate monitoring and evaluation processes are established to support learning and produce focused evaluation of outcomes
To collaborate with Grants department to achieve desired impact of grants by conducting training on how to manage grants, providing technical guidance to grantees, and by monitoring knowledge utilization
To participate in preparing formal and informal presentations such as training events, attending conferences, participating on Regional/Zonal CSO workgroups, and other meetings/events as necessary
To write and produce informative briefings and other materials on key issues for the department and the organization as needed To monitor, evaluate, and analyze trends and policy issues relevant to the development of civil society sector in Tanzania.
To plan and initiate interventions to achieve the goals of strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations in Tanzania
To form partnerships and sustain collaborations with individuals and organizations to enhance implementation of civil society sector capacity building initiatives.
