Senior Finance Officer job in Kenya

An international Christian NGO is looking for a dynamic and self driven professional to fill the vacancy of Senior Finance Officer.

Purpose of Position:  Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer will oversee the core accounting unit by managing the payments, cash disbursements, Settlement Advices and payroll processing and financial reporting so as to promote financial stewardship and accountability.

 Major Responsibilities

 ·         Review monthly financial reporting and prepare quarterly management reports.

·         Review all payments to ensure validity, accuracy and compliance to policies and timely settlement of invoices.

·         Coordinate the analysis of the balance sheet accounts.

·         Review of journals before posting.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·         A Bachelors degree and/or CPA(K)/ACCA

·         Minimum 5 years experience in accounting role with 3 years in similar position.

·         Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal accounting controls.

·         Knowledge of and experience with government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements preferred.

·         Must have good knowledge of computerized accounting systems preferably sun system and vision.

·         Able to work in a cross-cultural environment.
