Finance officer- Reporting & General Ledger

Our client, an International Christian NGO, seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Finance Officer- Reporting & General Ledger.

Purpose of Position:  To prepare and load the monthly field financial reporting and proper management of the Settlement Advice System database.

 Major Responsibilities

 ·         Review the payroll reconciliation for the month to month movement and review the monthly journal for posting.

·         Review journal listings for accuracy and proper coding before posting into SUN financial system.

·         Manage the settlement Advise System/Database by reviewing the monthly outgoing Settlement Advices on a timely basis.

·         Prepare department report.
 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·         A Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or CPA(K)/ACCA

·         Minimum 3 years experience in accounting role with 1 year in similar position.

·         Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal accounting controls.

·         Knowledge of and experience with government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements preferred.

·         Must have good knowledge of computerized accounting systems preferably sun system and vision.

·         Able to work in a cross-cultural environment.
